The Institute for Law & AI (LawAI) is now accepting applications for Research Scholar and Senior Research Scholar positions. These are full-time, one-year roles focused on conducting legal research at the intersection of law and artificial intelligence to inform beneficial AI policy.
The salary range is set at $100,000 – $121,000 for Research Scholars and $121,000 – $154,000 for Senior Research Scholars, depending on experience and location.

Research Directions

Role and Responsibilities
The scholars will work on academic papers, policy reports, and regulatory engagement. Responsibilities include self-guided research, preparing legal analyses for governments and international organizations, and providing feedback on team research. The role also involves monitoring new technical and legal developments in the AI field and attending relevant conferences.

Candidate Requirements
LawAI seeks candidates with a legal background, typically holding a JD, another graduate degree in a relevant field, or equivalent qualifications from other jurisdictions. Applicants should demonstrate:
