The Association for Survey Computing (ASC) has opened a call for speakers for its upcoming one-day conference, to be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at The Oval in London. This year’s event, titled “Beyond the Hype: Mastering GenAI for Real-World Insight Applications,” aims to move past buzzwords and focus on practical, grounded uses of generative AI in the research and insights industry.

Focus on What Works, and What Doesn’t
As generative AI tools become part of everyday workflows, the ASC wants to explore not just the potential, but the realities:
- Can AI truly save time and costs?
- Does it deliver better data, smarter analysis, or clearer communication?
- And how do we stay ethical, accountable, and creative while using it?
The conference will showcase practical examples, case studies, and reflections on the use of GenAI and large language models (LLMs) across research design, data collection, analysis, and reporting.

- Prompt engineering in practice: from scripters to prompt designers
- Agentic systems and their impact on research workflows
- How to maintain reproducibility and factual grounding
- Using AI to boost creativity in data storytelling
- From surveys to conversations: redefining how we ask questions
- Risks and responsibilities: ethics, IP protection, and trust
- Change management: bringing teams and clients along the journey
Presenters are invited to share real-world examples, “work-in-progress” stories, or critical lessons learned. Talks from developers and vendors are also welcome, particularly when co-presented with users or clients.
